Hitting the road

We left for the next installment of our travels in Oz late this morning.   All the family came over on Saturday for a farewell lunch, which was lovely and today Amelie and Nathan both called for a chat before going to school.  This time they are old enough to understand our travels and seem to be very interested.  Each one has been supplied with a large map to trace the route.
Family Farewell
This trip we plan to drive across NSW and SA then across the Nullarbor and into WA.  Once there we will go north through Kalgoorlie and up to the Pilbarra.  Then we'll make our way to the west coast and follow it south all the way to Perth.  Once we arrive in Perth in early August we will fly back to Sydney for 3 weeks then resume our journey south along the coastline of WA and the Eyre Peninsula in SA and into Victoria.

On the way we expect to visit archaeological sites, learn a lot about mining, experience beautiful national parks, spectacular wildflowers and fabulous coral reefs.

Today it was just a short drive of around 208km to Goulburn for the night and the weather was beautiful.
